About the Series
The Conscience of a Moderate series title is modeled after the title of a book from the 1960s, The Conscience of a Conservative, written by Barry Goldwater, the Republican senator from Arizona during that era. His book laid out his perspective of what a true conservative is. This series begins with what the author believes is the nature and character of a true moderate and what moderates’ perspective on politics is. It also focuses on how politicians and media are draining the strength of America and destroying our children’s future. Other projects in the series will advocate for children’s rights, a new deal for children, and moderate views on prescriptive solutions in domestic, foreign, and global policy for a number of key national issues.
About the Book - New Politics
New Politics should be on your reading list if you are interested in children’s rights or open to re-imagine America’s future as a more moderate nation.
New Politics is not a book about politics, it is a book of politics about one simple idea. More moderates create more moderation, better politics, and better outcomes for America. New Politics is a badly needed counterweight in the middle of the political scale to challenge the extreme liberal and conservative narratives and agendas currently dominating American politics. It explores who moderates are, what they believe, and how they think about problems, policy, and politics. After reading New Politics perhaps you will find a new political home as an American moderate or at least you will appreciate that pundits, pollsters, politicians, and the press are ignoring a significant chunk of America’s electorate in the nation’s political narrative. There is a one minute self - assessment survey in the last chapter you can give yourself to see how much of a moderate you are in your heart of hearts.
